Therapeutic Massage
What is it?
Swedish massage uses flowing, rhythmic movements to encourage relaxation, circulation, and overall well-being. Deep-tissue techniques address deeper layers of muscle and areas of persistent tension, but effective work does not need to be excessively painful. Myofascial release uses slower, sustained pressure and gentle stretching to address restrictions within the fascia—the connective tissue surrounding and supporting the muscles and other structures of the body.
Your session may focus primarily on relaxation, a specific area of discomfort, or a combination of both. The goal is not simply to apply more pressure, but to choose the techniques that best support your body.
This might be the right service for you if :
Your main concerns are muscular tension, soreness, discomfort, or stress
You experience stiffness or restricted movement
You have areas that feel tight, “stuck,” or difficult to stretch on your own
You prefer Swedish massage, deep-tissue work, myofascial release, or a customized combination
You want focused therapeutic work while still enjoying a relaxing massage
You would like pressure and techniques adjusted to your individual preferences and goals.
Choose a different service if :
Your primary concern is swelling, puffiness, heaviness, lymphedema, or lipedema—choose Manual Lymphatic Drainage
You are within the first 16 weeks following surgery—choose Post-Surgical Recovery Therapy
Your primary goal is guided flexibility and mobility work while remaining clothed—choose Assisted Stretching
You are seeking extremely forceful massage or believe therapeutic work must be painful to be effective—this is not the approach used at Bodywork Creative.
Important Safety note :
Massage and myofascial work may need to be modified or postponed if you have a fever, an active infection, a suspected blood clot, an open wound, a recent injury, an uncontrolled medical condition, or unexplained pain or swelling.
